Outpatient Day Treatment - A place to learn and socialize
Toby House offers a range of therapeutic approaches to individual, group and family counseling; behavioral management and psychosocial rehabilitation through classroom instruction, recreation and socialization opportunities. Classes in daily living skills, stress and anger management, behavior identification, time management, problem-solving, medication and symptom management, negotiation skills and interpersonal relationship development help clients learn how to live successfully in the community and manage the symptoms of their illness. Recreational activities and opportunities to socialize through arts & crafts, music, videos, bingo, billiards and exercise provide clients with a chance to relax and enjoy one another.
Vocational Rehabilitation - A place to do meaningful work
Like all workers, people with severe mental illnesses can benefit greatly from the security and self-sufficiency that come with stable and fulfilling employment. In addition to providing a living, work gives people a sense of belonging and community. It also creates a network of friends and colleagues. Adults with mental illness may need to learn new skills, pursue different employment paths, or develop ways to stay on their current job. At any point in a person's life, severe mental illness will present challenges which, with the right support, people can overcome. Client-run lawn and cleaning crews and retail training in our thrift shop provide clients with an understanding of the meaning, value and demands of work, as well as providing them with a sense of purpose and positive self-esteem.
Residential Treatment Facilities - The path to independence
These supervised residential programs are designed to facilitate personal and social adjustment and development. Our residents live in a least restrictive, healing environment and are involved in programs which are designed to foster and enhance independent living skills.
